Payroll and Benefits Manager

Behind every correct payslip at this farming enterprise in Epping is a careful payroll person. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

This post is in Epping (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

• Run the payroll, check variances and get sign-off before cut-off.
• Calculate leave pay, notice pay and severance on terminations.
• Process garnishee orders, loans and third-party deductions.
• Capture new hires, terminations and changes on Sage 300 People or VIP.
• Keep payroll files and banking details secure under POPIA.
• Answer staff payslip queries clearly and in private.
• Declare UIF on uFiling and assist staff with UI-19 forms.

• Matric plus a payroll, bookkeeping or HR qualification
• Trusted with confidential salary data
• Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA
• Strong Excel, especially VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• You triple-check figures before anything is paid
• Hands-on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay

• SAPA (South African Payroll Association) membership or certification
• ETI claim experience

• Hybrid work outside month-end week

• Be ready for a practical test calculating PAYE and overtime; take a calculator you know well.
• Put headcount, pay frequencies and software at the top of your CV (for example "900 staff, weekly and monthly, VIP").
