Payroll Officer (VIP Payroll)

People get paid right and on time because of you at a labour-heavy mining contractor in Umlazi. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a labour-heavy mining contractor on the Umlazi side of KwaZulu-Natal. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Answer staff payslip queries clearly and in private
• Compile bi-annual EMP501 reconciliations and issue IRP5 certificates
• Declare UIF on uFiling and help staff with UI-19 forms
• Capture new hires, terminations, increases and deductions before cut-off
• Run weekly and monthly payrolls and check the variance reports
• Import clock-card data and check overtime against approved hours
• Release the salary bank file for authorisation

• At least 2 years of full-function payroll
• You keep salary information private under POPIA
• Experience on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay
• Matric plus a payroll certificate or diploma
• Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA

• Bargaining council wage experience, such as MIBCO or the security sector
• Experience with medical aid and pension fund reconciliations
• SAPP registration as a Payroll Practitioner
