Pharmacist's Assistant Learner (Learnership)

You'll help a community retail pharmacy in Umhlanga dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Umhlanga-based, with most of your time spent at a community retail pharmacy. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery

• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course
