Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic) – Permanent

Patients at a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Germiston rely on you to get the right medicine into the right hands. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a pharmacy inside a supermarket on the Germiston side of Gauteng.

• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out

• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels

• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
• Fixed rota published a month ahead
