Job Description

Work under a registered pharmacist at a pharmacy inside a supermarket in Kariega and keep the dispensary running smoothly. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a pharmacy inside a supermarket on the Kariega side of Eastern Cape.

The work, day to day

Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

Must-haves

Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
Friendly and clear at a busy counter
Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)

Helpful, not essential

Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
