Job Description

A clean Code 8 licence and good street sense will get you started at an engineering firm in Somerset West. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Location: Somerset West, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

What you'll actually do

Bank cheques, post documents and run office errands
Return undelivered parcels to the depot with a reason code
Keep your vehicle or bike clean and report faults
Phone customers when the address is hard to find
Load parcels in route order from the depot scanning area
Collect spares and parts from suppliers and bring them to the workshop
Follow the delivery app for route and stop order

You'll need

Clean driving record and no criminal record
Smartphone and comfortable using delivery apps
Valid Code 8 (B) licence, or A licence for motorbike roles
Able to work Saturdays
At least 1 year of driving experience
Good sense of direction and map reading

Nice if you have

Previous courier or last-mile experience
PrDP for staff shuttle posts
Your own reliable bakkie or bike for owner-driver contracts

What you get

Company van, bakkie or scooter provided
Fuel card for work trips
Per-drop incentive on busy days
Branded uniform and rain gear

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: a CV with any delivery or courier work, certified ID and a recent proof of address plus Code 8 or motorbike licence copy.
Use the form on this page. It takes about two minutes and you don't need to upload anything yet.
Keep your phone on. Shortlisted applicants are contacted by call, SMS or WhatsApp within 6 working days.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around Somerset West; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

For owner-driver jobs, list your vehicle's make, year and load size. They hire the vehicle as much as the driver.
Say you have a smartphone and know delivery apps. Most courier jobs now run through an app and training time is short.
