Job Description

A fintech start-up in Cape Town CBD needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a fintech start-up. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What your day looks like

Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

You'll need

You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Nice if you have

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
