Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a frozen-food distribution centre in Ballito. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Ballito-based, with most of your time spent at a frozen-food distribution centre. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets

• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• You can read product codes and count accurately

• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse
• Basic computer skills for capturing counts
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
