Pick & Pack Hand (Online Orders)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at an online grocery fulfilment hub in Cape Town CBD, and nobody minds if it's your first job. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Cape Town CBD. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor

• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• You're fit enough to lift boxes up to 25kg all shift
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season

• Experience in a cold-chain or freezer environment
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
