Offloader (Container Depot) – Permanent

Strong back, sharp eyes on the load sheet: that is what a parcel sorting hub in Somerset West wants. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Somerset West, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts

• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)

• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
