Plasterer (Internal and External Walls)

Good, straight work gets noticed on this school construction project in Midrand, and so does turning up every day. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
• Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings
• Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
• Lay face brick and plaster brick to line, level and plumb
• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Mix mortar and plaster to the right ratio for the job

• Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
• Punctual every morning, even in winter
• Willing to move between sites in the same city
• Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements
• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside

• CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade
• Your own trowels, levels and tile cutter
• Trade test in bricklaying, carpentry or plastering

• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• Chance to move up to a gang leader post
• Weekly or fortnightly pay, always on time

• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
• Say which trade you are strongest in first. "Bricklayer, 6 years, face brick" is better than "general construction".
