Job Description

This private hospital maintenance department in Ballito needs a plumber who arrives on time, fixes it properly and leaves the site clean. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a private hospital maintenance department in Ballito. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Fit toilets, basins, showers and mixers to the client's chosen finishes
Clear blocked drains with a rodding machine and inspect lines with a drain camera
Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts

What you need

Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces

Helpful, not essential

Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience
SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations
Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
