Job Description

Questions come to you at a short-term insurer in Paarl, and you answer them with data. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a short-term insurer in Paarl. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Keep a data dictionary so everyone uses the same definitions

Must-haves

Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
Advanced Excel
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
Careful with sensitive customer data

Extra points for

Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
Experience with Databricks, Snowflake or Fabric
Python with pandas for data wrangling
