Production Line Worker (Food Factory)

Here in Komani, a plastic moulding plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a plastic moulding plant in Komani. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
