Job Description

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the seat and interior trim plant in Newcastle. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Newcastle; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

The work, day to day

  • Record production counts and scrap on the shift board
  • Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
  • Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
  • Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
  • Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
  • Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle

What you need

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
  • Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
  • Good eyesight and hand coordination

Helpful, not essential

  • Forklift licence for material handling
  • Previous experience in an automotive plant

On offer

  • Shift allowance and paid overtime
  • Staff canteen with subsidised meals
  • Transport from nearby townships on some routes

Applying, step by step

  1. Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): certified copy of your ID book or card, Grade 12 results plus proof of address.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 6 working days.
