Team Leader (Automotive Production Line)

Work on the line where every station counts, at the wiring harness factory in Pinetown. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a wiring harness factory in Pinetown. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Keep your station clean using 5S rules
• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board

• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Grade 12 certificate
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus

• Forklift licence for material handling
• Basic computer skills

• Shift allowance and paid overtime
• Transport from nearby townships on some routes
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Learnership opportunities toward an artisan trade

• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
