Job Description

Good with a scan tool and a torque wrench? This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Durban Central needs you in a bay. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a fast-fit tyre and service centre on the Durban Central side of KwaZulu-Natal. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts

Must-haves

Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams

Helpful, not essential

Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience
High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
