Professional Nurse (Theatre)

Patients in this private hospital surgical ward in Lephalale count on your clinical judgement every single shift. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Lephalale (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Do wound care, catheter care and IV line management to unit protocol
• Keep clinical notes clear, timed and signed for audits and legal records
• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients

• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice

• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay

• List your speciality skills in plain words, such as "ventilated patients" or "normal deliveries", instead of just the ward name.
