Job Description

The electrical consulting engineering firm in Prospecton needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Prospecton (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion

What you need

ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
