Job Description

Winter fire season is near, and an eucalyptus plantation near Vanderbijlpark needs crews ready. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll report in Vanderbijlpark. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Sharpen and service chainsaws daily
Wear chainsaw chaps, helmets and ear protection at all times
Feed logs into sawmill machines and stack planks
Apply herbicide around young trees as instructed
Fight veld fires with beaters and water packs under a crew leader
Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders

Must-haves

Physically strong and fit for steep slopes
Able to work in a crew and follow the crew leader
Willing to work in remote areas
Passes the medical check for fire crews
Available for early starts and fire-season standby

Nice if you have
