Job Description

Good factory hands stay for years, and this soft drink bottling plant in Fourways trains from day one. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Fourways-based, with most of your time spent at a soft drink bottling plant.

What you'll actually do

Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

You'll need

Available for rotating day and night shifts
Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

Nice if you have

Some basic first-aid training
A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
