Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory)

You'll keep the line running at a furniture assembly factory in George, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a furniture assembly factory in George. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product

• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory

• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
