Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Prospecton. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a mixed-use neighbourhood on the Prospecton side of KwaZulu-Natal. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates

You'll need

SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Calm under pressure and physically fit
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Clean criminal record and no pending cases

Nice if you have

Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
Advanced driving course
