Job Description

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a retail distribution centre in Centurion before they cost jobs. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a retail distribution centre on the Centurion side of Gauteng. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
Share trends with the store manager each week
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour

You'll need

Able to handle confrontation calmly
Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
Discreet, observant and honest

Nice if you have

Experience giving evidence in court
Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Retail loss prevention course
