Job Description

Retail in Umlazi runs on thin margins, and a retail distribution centre needs someone guarding its stock. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Umlazi-based, with most of your time spent at a retail distribution centre. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
Tag high-value stock and check security tags at the doors
Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots

Must-haves

Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
Discreet, observant and honest
Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
Good report writing
Able to handle confrontation calmly

Helpful, not essential

Experience giving evidence in court
Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
Retail loss prevention course
