Reception Security Officer (Office Tower)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a construction yard in Pietermaritzburg for PSIRA-registered officers. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is a construction yard on the Pietermaritzburg side of KwaZulu-Natal.

• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
