Security Site Supervisor (Grade B)

A security company in Pietermaritzburg wants a firm, fair supervisor for its residential estate. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a residential estate in Pietermaritzburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns

• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Available after hours for emergencies
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)

• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
• Own reliable vehicle
• Labour relations or basic supervision course

• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Cellphone allowance

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
