Reception Security Officer (Office Tower) – Entry Level

The gate at a private school campus in Tzaneen is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Tzaneen; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Physically fit for foot patrols

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
