Reliability Engineer (Rotating Equipment)

This engineering consultancy in Ermelo needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Ermelo. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
• Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
• Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
• Write scopes of work and compare contractor quotes
• Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
• Prepare the maintenance budget and report monthly on spend
• Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347

• Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
• Registered with ECSA as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate, depending on level
• Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles
• Able to manage contractors and budgets

• Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
• Finite element analysis skills
• Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
