Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse) – Immediate Start

This is a floor job at a hotel restaurant in Durban Central where your tips follow your service. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a hotel restaurant in Durban Central. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.

• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts

• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
• Responsible Service of Alcohol training

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff meal on every shift
