Waiter / Waitress (Evening Shift)

You'll look after tables at a beachfront cocktail bar in Newcastle, from the first greeting to the final bill. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The site is in Newcastle; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.

• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
• Put the names of the restaurants you worked at and your average covers per shift at the top of your CV.
