Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse)

This is a floor job at a sports bar and grill in Komani where your tips follow your service. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a sports bar and grill on the Komani side of Eastern Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.

• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays

• Responsible Service of Alcohol training
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
• Staff meal on every shift

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
