Retail Security Officer (Clothing Store)

Blend in, watch closely and act lawfully: that is loss prevention at a supermarket in Mossel Bay. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Mossel Bay; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement

• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• Good report writing
• Discreet, observant and honest

• Retail loss prevention course
• Experience giving evidence in court
• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports

• Monthly recovery incentives
• Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)
• Retail trading hours, no night shift in most stores
