Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

The municipal infrastructure project in Tembisa needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a municipal infrastructure project in Tembisa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• Diploma in Safety Management
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects
• Fall protection planner training

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances

• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
