Job Description

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for a bank's digital channels team in Montague Gardens. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Montague Gardens; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

The work, day to day

Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Document how your features work for support and new developers

What you need

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Experience writing automated tests
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases

Extra points for

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
