Senior Python Developer (Data Platforms) – Permanent

You'll build and ship features that real users touch every day, for an e-commerce platform in Newcastle. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Newcastle. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
• Pair with junior developers to unblock them
• Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
• Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
• Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
• Write unit and integration tests before you merge

• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
• Experience writing automated tests
• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Public GitHub portfolio or published app
