Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Projects)

The civils and earthworks contractor in Kempton Park needs a QS who can price a tender and still defend a final account. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a civils and earthworks contractor in Kempton Park. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs

• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS

• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Travel allowance for site visits
• Study support for an honours degree
