SHE Officer (Contract Mining) – Experienced

Plan inspections, lead investigations and build a safer shift culture at the mineral processing plant near Kimberley. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Kimberley. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Train safety representatives and support the health and safety committee
• Review baseline and issue-based risk assessments with section managers
• Take dust, noise and heat measurements with the occupational hygiene team
• Lead incident investigations using a root cause method
• Inspect workplaces underground and on surface against the MHSA and the mine's standards
• Track safety statistics like LTIFR and report them each month

• Detailed knowledge of the MHSA and its regulations
• Confident writing investigation reports and presenting findings
• SAMTRAC or an MQA-accredited mine safety qualification
• Registered with SAIOSH, or working toward it
• Code 08 licence for moving around the mine property

• Standby allowance for incident call-outs

• Show your mining sector safety experience clearly. Construction-only safety CVs are often moved to the no pile.
• Mention the commodity and whether you worked underground. Mines prefer someone who knows their hazards.
