Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract) – Experienced

Step up from guarding into supervising on a guarding contract across several sites in Midrand. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is in Midrand (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows

• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites

• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app

• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Cellphone allowance

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
