Shift Supervisor (Guarding Contract) – Fixed-Term

Step up from guarding into supervising on a mining operation in Rustenburg. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Rustenburg-based, with most of your time spent at a mining operation. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Investigate incidents and write reports for the client
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows

• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor

• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Mining or hospital security experience
• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app

• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles

• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
