Site Agent (Civil Works) – Immediate Start

This low-cost housing developer in eMalahleni needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection

• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool

• Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
• Surveying skills with a total station
