Site Foreman (Residential Housing)

This low-cost housing developer in Midrand needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection

• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act

• Experience on JBCC or GCC 2015 contracts
• Concrete technology short course
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager or Candidate

• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Cellphone and laptop supplied
