Job Description

You'll mix, carry, dig and clean up so the tradespeople on a low-cost housing development in Pretoria West can keep building. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a low-cost housing development on the Pretoria West side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Set up barriers, cones and signs around open trenches
Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines

Must-haves

Willing to start early, often at 06:30
Grade 8 or higher
Prepared to travel between sites in the area
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather

Helpful, not essential

Some experience with a jackhammer, grinder or plate compactor
Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database
