Site Safety Officer (Civil Projects)

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this renewable energy construction site in Pinetown. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a renewable energy construction site on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal.

• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor

• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer

• Fall protection planner training
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Diploma in Safety Management

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Travel and site allowances
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role

• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
