Job Description

The gate at a gated residential estate in Midrand is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Midrand-based, with most of your time spent at a gated residential estate.

What you'll actually do

Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags

You'll need

Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
Speaks and writes basic English
Physically fit for foot patrols
