Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Immediate Start

The gate at a private school campus in Newcastle is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a private school campus on the Newcastle side of KwaZulu-Natal.

• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it

• Clean criminal record
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Speaks and writes basic English
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Stable long-term site contracts

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
