Site Security Officer (Construction Yard)

Residents and staff at a private school campus in Pretoria East need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a private school campus in Pretoria East. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)

• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Provident fund contributions
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
