Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Entry Level

Residents and staff at a gated residential estate in Randburg need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at a gated residential estate. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Put your PSIRA number and grade right under your name. Recruiters check it on the PSIRA system before they even phone you.
