Site Security Officer (Construction Yard)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a distribution warehouse in Richards Bay for PSIRA-registered officers. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a distribution warehouse in Richards Bay. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
