Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Fixed-Term

You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Worcester, and log every visitor properly. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Worcester; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Provident fund contributions

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
